Foundayo is swallowed whole once daily, at any time of day, with or without food and with no water restriction.
Foundayo treatment begins at 0.8 mg once daily and increases through a process called titration, with each step held for at least 30 days. This allows your body to adjust and minimises side effects4.
Not everyone needs the highest dose. The maximum is 17.2 mg once daily, and your maintenance dose depends on how you respond and tolerate treatment. Your Everwell prescriber personalises your schedule based on progress, side effects and health goals.

Foundayo is the brand name for orforglipron, a once-daily GLP-1 receptor agonist taken as a tablet. In clinical trials, adults taking the highest dose lost an average of 12.4% of their body weight over 72 weeks1.
Foundayo works by mimicking GLP-1, a natural gut hormone that regulates appetite. This helps you feel fuller for longer, reduces cravings, and supports sustainable weight loss2.
What sets Foundayo apart from other oral GLP-1s is its chemistry. It is a non-peptide small molecule rather than a peptide, so it survives digestion without an absorption enhancer. That means no empty-stomach rule, no water limit, and no waiting before you eat.
Foundayo works by mimicking GLP-1, a natural hormone that regulates appetite and blood sugar levels in your body2.
Like all medications, Foundayo can cause side effects, though not everyone experiences them. Most are mild and decrease as your body adjusts through the titration schedule.
The most common side effects are gastrointestinal and typically occur when starting treatment or increasing your dose:
These side effects are usually mild to moderate and tend to improve significantly within a few weeks as your body adjusts. Your Everwell health coach can provide personalised guidance, and our medical team can adjust your treatment plan if side effects persist.
Foundayo is a prescription medication for weight management in specific circumstances. Our prescribers assess your eligibility during consultation.
During consultation, discuss all current medications, supplements, and your complete medical history with your prescriber.
Choosing the right weight loss medication depends on your individual needs, health profile, and weight loss goals. Mounjaro, Wegovy, Wegovy Pill and Foundayo are compared side by side further up this page.
See the full four-medication comparison table →Foundayo suits people who want a GLP-1 without needles and without timing rules. It is the only oral GLP-1 that can be taken at any time of day, with or without food - which for many people is the difference between taking it consistently and not.
During your consultation, our prescribers will review your medical history, weight loss goals, and personal preferences to recommend the most suitable medication for your situation.
Yes. Foundayo (orforglipron) is available on prescription through Everwell as a once-daily GLP-1 tablet for weight management. Your Everwell doctor will decide whether it is clinically appropriate for you during your consultation.
Foundayo is the brand name for orforglipron, a once-daily GLP-1 receptor agonist taken as a tablet. Unlike other oral GLP-1 medications it is a non-peptide small molecule, which means it can be taken at any time of day with or without food and without water restrictions.
In a 72-week clinical trial, adults taking the highest dose of Foundayo alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity lost an average of 12.4% of their body weight, compared with around 2% on placebo. Individual results vary.
One tablet once daily, at any time of day, with or without food. There is no need to wait before eating and no water restriction. Most people find it easiest to take it at the same time each day.
Treatment starts at 0.8 mg once daily and increases after at least 30 days to 2.5 mg, then 5.5 mg. Your prescriber may then increase to 9 mg, 14.5 mg or 17.2 mg, each after at least 30 days, based on how you respond and tolerate it. The maximum dose is 17.2 mg once daily.
The most commonly reported side effects are gastrointestinal: nausea, constipation, diarrhoea, vomiting, indigestion and abdominal pain. Headache, bloating, fatigue, belching, heartburn, wind and hair loss have also been reported. Most are mild and improve as your body adjusts through the titration schedule.
Nausea is common in the first weeks and after each dose increase. Smaller, lower-fat meals help, as does eating slowly, staying hydrated, and avoiding very rich or greasy food. If it is persistent or severe, speak to your Everwell doctor, who may hold you at your current dose for longer.
Seek medical attention immediately if you experience severe or persistent abdominal pain (possible pancreatitis), yellowing of the skin or eyes, symptoms of a serious allergic reaction such as facial swelling or difficulty breathing, or severe and prolonged vomiting or diarrhoea, which can cause dehydration and kidney problems. These are rare, but act quickly if they occur.
Both are once-daily GLP-1 tablets, but they work differently. The Wegovy Pill contains oral semaglutide and must be taken on an empty stomach with a small glass of water, waiting 30 minutes before eating. Foundayo contains orforglipron, a non-peptide molecule that can be taken at any time with or without food. The Wegovy Pill has shown greater average weight loss in trials.
Foundayo interacts with medicines that affect the CYP3A4 enzyme. The maximum dose is 9 mg daily if you take a strong CYP3A4 inhibitor, and strong CYP3A4 inducers should be avoided. Foundayo is not recommended alongside any other GLP-1 medication. Discuss everything you take with your prescriber.
Take it as soon as you remember, at any time of day. Never take two tablets to make up for a missed one. If you miss seven or more doses in a row, your prescriber will restart your titration at a lower dose to reduce the risk of side effects.
Alcohol is not strictly contraindicated, but it can worsen nausea and dehydration and tends to undermine weight management goals. It is best to minimise alcohol during your programme. Your clinician can advise based on your situation.
Weight regain after stopping any GLP-1 is common, because the appetite-suppressing effect stops too. This is why the habits you build during your Everwell programme matter - your coach will help you plan a long-term strategy well before you come off treatment.
No. Foundayo should not be used if you are trying to become pregnant, are pregnant, or are breastfeeding. Women of childbearing age should use effective contraception during treatment. Speak to your Everwell doctor for advice on timing.
Yes. Foundayo is licensed for use alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity - in trials, that meant a recommended minimum of 150 minutes a week. Exercise improves your results and helps preserve muscle mass during weight loss. Your Everwell health coach will help you build a plan you can sustain.
